Waterscreen made the show even more impressive, when it was used to project visuals related to movie music.
Presented for the sixth time, the Dancing Fountains water show at Tammerkoski attracted thousands of visitors and gave each evening its own distinctive programme.
Tampere Light Weeks is one of Finland’s best-known city light events, and the
water show at Tammerkoski has been one of its main attractions for several years.
The 2025 edition continued this tradition with a visually rich production where
moving water, light, music and projected imagery came together as a unified
experience.
The show combined several elements: choreographed fountains, waterscreen
projection, moving lights and special effects. During the All Saints’ Day weekend,
the programme also included a Halloween special in which the visual atmosphere
was enhanced with pyrotechnic effects.
My role in the project focused on the artistic design of the show. I was responsible
for shaping the structure of the performances, aligning the music with the fountain
choreography, and programming the technical execution. The project was delivered
in collaboration with Dancing Fountains,
who were responsible for the water technology, and the City of Tampere as the
event organiser.
The aim of the project was to create a living and constantly evolving water show
in the Tammerkoski cityscape — one that would encourage audiences to return on
multiple evenings. This goal was clearly achieved: the performances attracted
thousands of spectators every day and once again became one of the most talked-about
features of Tampere Light Weeks.
Waterscreen made the show even more impressive, when it was used to project visuals related to movie music.
Moving lights created impressive light shows in the air and emphasized the drama of the performance.
Halloween-Special can be seen on the Dancing Fountains YouTube channel.
